The no theme issue is because you removed the cod folder of the current theme you had been using on the BB.

For GPS, do you have GPS puck in use?

Yes, I'm using the GPS puck. I'm only able to use Amaze for GPS as NAV4ALL STILL won't find my puck, yet all the other GPS enabled products do just fine.

Installed .69 last night (upgrade - no wipe). Seems to work fine - was sluggish at first but this morning all seems normal. Only one issue:

My SD card died (Kingston 1GB). I removed it before the upgrade and put it back in afterward. Once back in, the phone pretty much stayed on the hourglass - just bogged down trying to read the card. Did a few battery pulls - no change. So I put the card into the computer - computer didn't recognize it at all. Couldn't read it, format it, do anything with it.

So before I put in a new clean card I'm just wondering if anyone else has encountered this. Was wondering if I should maybe wipe the phone and reinstall...

One other difference I found. On 4.5.0.55, my calendar would occasionally delete very old entries (I have my calendar configured to keep all entries). 4.5.0.69 has not deleted any calendar entries yet. I've been running it for a couple weeks now.

ok, I got rid of the scanning isssue with the Media. I had formatted the media card and went to look at the songs and some were still there and the properties had them on the media card.

Did a battery pull along with the media card, put in battery only, start phone.
Confirm that media was empty.
Replaced media card, transferred files back again and all is good now.

So far so good.

I was a little hasty in assuming my SD card was dead - different adapter, different computer and the card appears to be fine. I guess there was some data on there that the phone didn't want to deal with. Flushed the card and the phone recognizes it - able to load things back on.

But it is ridiculously slow in reading the media on it.

(best of luck to all you in Texas)

Going to DL and install now. Will update with any changes or bugs. I hope the Standby feature will work like it did in 4.2. in .55 it seems the keypad is the only keys locked in standby.

Upgraded wife's 8100 to new O/S now I get the message "No Message services configured..." I did the upgrade from my pc through my desktop manager. I previously upgraded my 8300 successfully and didn't have this issue. How can I resolve? They are both "work" phones with BES. Any help?

You need to talk to the BES Admin and get a new Enterprise Activation password. The device has to be reactivated on the BES.

I also tried restoring to the backup I did prior to the upgrade. That didn't work, should it have? If not should I just go ahead and do the upgrade then request?

1st post. I was going to upgrade from a 4.2 OS. One question, how do I start that download from the first post?

Ok, I figured it out.

I know it says multi-lang., however it's in French. That's not a problem, no?

As long as you can figure out what to fill out in the blanks, it's not a problem. The download will be in English and contain English in the OS.

No, a PC is required for OS updates.

Did you download and install the OS too? It's a two part process. After you've installed BOTH, then delete vendor.xml file.

I just upgraded from 4.2 and it seems to be working for the most part except for now my led indicator light is constantly lit green. I tried turning indicator on and then off again, but still on. Also can't use my Opera or Google Maps. Just tried BB Browser and that's not working either. Now indicator light is flashing red. I changed TCP to wap.voicestream.com, but has that changed since? I did a battery pull after changing that (SoftReset gives me a Java error now too).

Wirelessly posted (BB 11020)

You need to remove ColorPearl as the post at the top of this thread states.

Well, sorry. The last OS post had that in the instructions. I'll add that when I get back to a PC. The colorPearl app does this to the LED in OS 4.5. Remove ColorPearl and install the new BlingBall app. You can find BlingBall here in the 8100 forum. It is one of the sticky threads.

Thanks. I'll get rid of that. Fixed the TCP issue. Helps if you put voicestream instead of voicesteam....

Maybe I drank too much this weekend...I was trying to install this on my girlfriend's Pearl, using this OS and the newest version of DM and it keeps on reinstalling the .55 version. I have saved it and everything that I am supposed to do on a regular update of OS, but there is something here that I am not doing right. Tried it three times and it prompts to update the OS to .69/.92 but after running the DM, it doesn't for whatever reason. Any suggestions?

I think I may have found a "feature"

Listening to music through Music Player. Sounds come through for SMS msgs, and email. However, the phone ringer will not sound and you end up having a missed call.

Anyone confirm? OR am I missing a setting.

Default White camera screen after installing .69 - 09-15-2008, 03:02 PM

I installed this upgrade a few days ago. everything went all right, and I noticed no big hang ups or problems with it.
But today, I went to use my camera, and all I get is a white screen. The camera itself seems to be working, in that when I take a pic, I hear the shutter sound. I also can use the options menu, but I just get a white screen.
Any advice? I was thinking that maybe I should do a wipe, and reinstall the OS. But if all else fails, I guess I'll have to go back to .55 (though I'll miss those colored folders on the home screen. Got kind'a attached to them already).

Peace,

Kamau

Installed it last night along with Blingball. Working very well, and seems to boot up faster as well.

I downloaded the file, then installed it, deleted the vendor file from C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\8100-v4.5.0.69_P2.7.0.72, and last plugged in my phone and started the Desktop Manager but it didn't tell me to update or anything so I went to Application Loader but it showed the 4.2 update I have on my phone instead of the 4.5 one and now idk what to do. Can someone help me figure this out?

Does it contains Russian language typing support or not?

White screen from the start, or after you take a picture?

I've seen short periods of white screen after taking a pic. However, its usually no longer than a second or two.

White screen right from the start.
I also just did a wipe, and reinstalled it. Not only did it not fix the camera problem, now all my 3rd party apps have disappeared along with all my themes (bought & free). I did a backup before I wiped, plus I did a optimizing after. I even restored again to make sure. All of my other media is intact, along with my addresses.

Peace,

Kamau

A backup doesn't include 3rd party apps. 3rd party app backup/restore only takes place during upgrade/downgrades. If you wipe, you lose it. That's why I wrote this:
