Unhappy Why is my Pearl deleting all of my messages and call history???

Please Login to Remove!

I have had my Blackberry Pearl for about 6 months, and I have never had to erase any of my messages or call history. I loved that. I could go back and review messages from months ago.

Yesterday, I was using the browser, and I received a text message. I used the Switch Application function to switch over to my messages. I saw my new message but also noticed that all of my messages were GONE!! They disappeared without warning, and without any sort of prompt.

I started adding quite a few applications the day before which started to take up a bit of memory. Without them, I had about 9,000,000 bytes of memory. After installing the apps, I had about 2,000,000 bytes available.

Is it possible that my Pearl deleted all of my message in an effort to free up space? I didn't have my messages saved, but I never had to do that since they never got deleted.

Overnight, all of my messages and call history erased AGAIN!! How could this happen twice in one day?? Is there an explanation or could there be something wrong with my phone??

Thanks!!

Sorry to hear that! You need to try and shoot for having 15MB (15,000,000) file free. Here is what you need:

Good luck and welcome to the forums!

Wirelessly posted (off to see the wizard)

That is exactly what it does. Deletes to free up memory so it can function

Go to options>status
What is available free memory? Ideally you want 10-15MB

I have a 2GB media card installed on my phone. Is there a way to save applications to this memory instead of the device memory?

No, the memory card only stores media - pics, videos, music, etc. Applications and themes all go on the device memory.

Thanks for all of your quick responses. I have not been able to install the desktop manager because I have a MAC. Is there a workaround?
