Well, i hope someone can help me. I was updating my software on my 8100 pearl and while it was doing the process, my little nephew grabbed the phone, and the wire was already loose and disconnected it. The desktop manages said it couldnt continue.....!!!! my phone is now blank white, and the only thing that comes up is "app error 200."

I already did a battery pull, and under "app error 200" was an option to reset and that was it....nothing else....can someone help me....?


Also id like to add that i checked if i had backed up all my files before all of this happened, and it did....

Just plug it back in and start the Application loader over again.

i did, the application loader doesnt detect anything...Crap man im screwed....

Okay now...its loading all the stuff back to my phone.....one more question....now how do i get all my messages and stuff like that, that i had previously before this scare happened?

Because the OS is different than the one before that i had and if i just restore it, wouldnt it want to go back to the backedup OS?

The loading process made a backup of all your data. It's in the form of an .ipd file. You simply need to find where the .ipd file was saved on your PC and then restore that file back to the BB.

well, my phone works now, and i restored it to 2 different points, but now my opera mini is gone, and my notepad and tasks....i had important stuff written there man....how can i get that back...?

Any 3rd party applications you had are gone from the error. You'll have to download Opera again.

Your Tasks and NotePad need to be reinstalled using Application loader. plug it back in, run application loader again and check the boxes for Tasks and Memo Pad.

I must be enoyying by now, but, i checked the boxes, phone restored, and.....everything i had in my memopad, is gone!.....how can i get that back, thats all i need. I dont care about the opera mini or anything else, i need to get the memo notes back....any way i can do that...?

Is the MemoPad application back on the device? If it is, use the backup/restore Advanced feature in DM to restore just the MemoPad entries from the backup file.

Ok.... I too have an 8110 Pearl, and was trying to do the software upgrade form T Mobile (my device had started rebooting itself after what I suspect was an OTA upgrade they pushed out so had to see if could upgrade the software) I had the app loader 200 error during the upgrade and have just followed the really informative instructions re JL tool (many thanks for that). Managed to get the device to the 507 icon / error. Tried the app loader via the dtm and kept getting fatal error after it had run the wiping handheld step. Thought I'd try the cmd steps the JL tool instructions link to, to see if that would help in case it hadn't managed to use the JL tool (java prob or something) (Again, great instructions - many thanks).

So...it did the:
- load JVM and sys software
- wait for device reinitialisation (red light... great... progress....)
then got the egg timer but was a bit concerned as it was the small version rather than the one the OS has....)
- started the Read App config bit and then bb showed 507 error and icon again, and I got another version of the 'a fatal error has occurred' message I got via the DTM. Unspecified error encountered - J:0000005

Can anyone help an amateur sort this out please.....

I've even tried having it on charge a few hours in case in needs extra juice - nada.... it either completely fails to reinitialise the device, reboots during reinitialising or reboots during loading files.... I really am getting to the end of my tether now....

How long do you wait at this stage? It can take a really long time (half hour or more) and you shouldn't do anything to it while the timer/hourglass is up.

I NEED HELP!! My blackberry stopped working for some reason && said app 530 or something like that..i did the JL Commander && everything, but now it has something else on the screen after i wiped it..it says 507 with shapes inside of this square thing...what do i do!?

First, you're posting in the 8100 forum when your profile says you have a 9000 Bold. Do you have a Bold?

If so, just reload the OS to the device. 507 just means there is no OS on the device. Simply follow the instructions here:
