When I try to transfer a anything ( pic's or doc's) from my computer to my 8120 using media manager I get the message "not enough disk space". I have uninstalled games to create more disk space but no luck. I know there is enough space as I have reinstalled the games. I am running Os 4.5 and 4.5 media manager.

Ok let's put it this way I can take 3 pic's off but cannot put 1 pic back on.

what is the actual disk space? Those games can take a lot less then you think

There is a limit of 2.86MB per file when transferring files to the device memory. You need a media card for storing those files. Besides, storing those files on the device memory takes up valuable memory and you will likely lose emails, sms, and call logs at some point when the device runs out of usuable memory.

The thing is I had no problems with OS 4.3. I have taken off all the pic's I had on the phone and tried to load just 1 and I get the "not enough disk space" error.

In Media >Options What are your memory limits set to?

Check "Device Memory Limit" and "Reserved Pictures Memory."

I'll say this again....Get a Media Card. You WILL have problems at some point when you store media files on the BB. Media cards are SO cheap these days. You can get them at NewEgg.com for next to nothing. I'll bet you can find 4Gb for under $20 and probably closer to $10.

I have memory card's just wanted a few pic's on the phone, and have just connected up to try again and would you believe it it's ok now.

I know exactly what antmundy is talking about and you don't have to have a media card in order to do what she is trying to do, in fact I am having the same problem using media manager to transfer a tiny wallpaper image to my phone and i have plenty of space but still get that error. It has to be something with media manager and I am about to go research this online. I'll post back if I find a solution. So i just wanted to say that SD/media cards are NOT necessary for little file transfers.

but its a lot easier if you use a microSD.
