I've got an 8130 with Sprint. I have my call log set up in "Most Used" phone list view and use it as my speed dial. I've set my call logging option to log all my calls in my messages. It doesn't. I'd say it's about a 50-50 chance of an incoming, outgoing, or missed call to show up in the messages list. The only way I know I've missed a call is if they leave a voicemail. The messages list doesn't even show I've gotten a new voicemail, only the small icon will show up on my homescreen. I've only had the phone for about 2 months, and the first month it worked great, but now it only works sometimes.

The other problem I have is that I use my phone as my "backup" alarm clock. Some mornings it will only vibrate, while other mornings it will actually sound the alarm. I have it set to vibrate twice and then ring, but ther are mornings it doesn't go off.

I'm thinking it has to be a setting problem but I can't find any other settings to try changing. Anybody have any advice?

So, you say it's not memory. What is your "file free" under Options >Status?

Well, I am assuming it's not memory because I read through some forums on here the other day and changed my memory settings, and it just did it about three hours ago with a missed call

My file free is 1251835 bytes out of 50462720 bytes total. I assumed it was not a memory problem also because it's never deleted any of my call logs or messages, just won't add new ones. And there are days where I will be at work, and noticed one missed call, but I have three voicemails (the two coming in before my missed call) and I know my husband is not smart enough to leave a voicemail without calling, he's not technology oriented.

It most certainly IS memory. Your memory is VERY low. You should have about 10 times the amount of free memory you are showing.

You need to get rid of some stuff. Do you have a media card?

Pop the battery out and back in and tell us what the free memory is after that.

I have a 4gb sd card! all my pictures, videos, music, ringtones, those are all loaded on my memory card, before I ever put it in my phone. And there's less than 512 on that! I only have about 35 contacts and no saved messages. I have a few applications that I added: 2 games, a shopping list program and google maps.

But why will it show some missed calls after not showing others without me changing anything?

Look in Options >Status. Hit the menu key and select "Database Sizes." What does it say? Pay close attention to "content store."

Those are pictures and ringtones and songs. Go to into the Media app and then hit the menu key (left of trackball) and select "Explore" and go into Device Memory and move those files onto your media card.

After that's done, follow the instructions in the post below to free up more memory.

On my i930 there was a way to set the phone to automatically save my pictures to my media card. Can I do that on my pearl?

Moving 15 pictures brought my free space up to 6254823

It says you have 53 entries. You moved 15. Find the other stuff and move it as well.

Default to SD card...Yes, in the camera app, go to Options and you can set that there.

Ideally, you'd like to see 15Mb or more file free. You're almost half way there.

If I move pictures I use as caller id to the memory card will they still work?
the same for ringtones?

yes all photos and ringers work if stored on the media card. Except when in Mass Storage mode when plugged into your computer obviously, it just goes to the default ringer until you unplug it.

I store one or two ringtones and the one wallpaper that I have in use on the device memory. If I swap wallpapers or ringtones, I'll move them to device memory and move the others back to the sd card. That way when I plug in the device my ringtones and wallpapers stay put.

John - this is probably a dumb question but once I select Explore and am in Devie Memory, how exactly do i move these files? I got stuck here as I did not see how to do that on the device.
