For some reason, all of a sudden, about 2 weeks ago, the smart type on my Pearl totally went down the crapper. It get's sooooo many words wrong that it used to get right every time. Is there any way to reset back to like it used to be? I don't mind training it on the acronyms and slang I use again, I just want it to spell normal words correctly.

Also, I'm using 4.2.1.109 OS and haven't had any problems so I'm hesitant to update just for the sake of updating. Do I have anything to gain from moving to 4.5?

Lots of upsdide to 4.5, including video camera functionality and html e-mail. Browse the thread below to see some other advantages. Upgrading the OS may solve your SureType issue as well, but if you decide not to upgrade right now, try pulling the battery for 10-15 seconds, that may clear it.

Do you know if I can use the color pearl and soft reset programs with the 4.5 OS? What's the resolution of the video camera function?
