Angry registration problem

Please Login to Remove!

I am new to this forum and indeed to the use of blackberry phones in general, so I apologise in advance if my problem is rather inane.
I cannot register my blackberry pearl with the network, I only discovered it was not registered when I tried to setup an e-mail account with my carrier o2.
I have tried to rectify this problem in two ways: 1) I entered this info in TCP ;
optionsAPN: wap.o2.co.uk
username: o2wap
password: password
2) clicked register now in options host routing table which displayed "registration sent yet I reveived now text message or any other info.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
