Question Password removal

Please Login to Remove!

I suddenly now have to put in a password on my phone to use it. I do have the enterprise for my work emails to come to my blackberry and when I called corporate they tell me I have to have my techy guys at work check it for me which means I have to wait until Monday. This happened last night and I didnt have a password set up on my phone before that.

Greetings and welcome to the BBF.

Your BES must have pushed down a new IT Policy to the device to require a PW.

If you enter it wrong 10x you wipe the device and lose everything, all data, contacts, messages, etc. If you are BES enterprise, of course all that should be on the system.

There is no way around the PW once set.

When a device is connected to a BES, and the IT Policy enforces (requires) the password, you cannot get around it. Yes, you could follow the steps for removing the IT Policy, but as soon as the device communicates with the BES again, the IT Policy will be pushed back down, and therefore the password will come with it.
