Unhappy Please help, My blackberry has stopped working!!!

I got an 8110 about 4 months ago and it has worked flawlessly until today. I was looking at some pictures on my phone and it froze. I took the battery out and waited about 30 seconds and put it back in. I waited for the red light to come on and a was relieved when I saw it, but the red light went off, and came off again and it keeps on repeating the process. I am 15 years old and I can't just afford to go out and buy a new one, and also I got the phone used from a friend so there is no warranty, so me fixing it is my only option. I'm a complete idiot when it comes to updating firmware and technical stuff like that, so if anyone has any suggestions about this, please be very kindergarden about it. Also all of my data was stored on my memory card and my contacts are on my sims card, so I have no problem wiping it clean.. I just need a how to. Thanks guys..

Can you connect to the Blackberry Desktop Manager? If it can you can probably reinstall the OS. You can get the Desktop Manager & your OS from your service provider. There is something on this site called JL_cmdr that wipes then reinstalls the OS . If your phone is not recognized by the Desktop Manager then you need another person with a higher skill level than I. Good Luck.

Did you drop it or get it wet by any chance?

As for wiping it clean and starting over, read the FAQ. There is an article there discussing your options.

I don't have any special desktop manager software for my computer. I just hook a usb cable up to it and go to "my computer". I didn't get the disc that came with the phone. If anyone has a link to download Blackberry Desktop Manager [I guess that's what its called?] it would be appreciated.
