i am new to blackberry and have the pearl 8130. i had deleted blackberry messenger and some other apps i wanted back was told to reload it from the desktop manager. when i installed the desktop manager the only applications listed were the ones currently on the phone. some other forums told me to download the device software and reinstall it.

so i backed up the phone with the desktop manager and opened the apploader for the device software, and during the install i got an error message saying it could not continue. now my phone only has some icon with and box in a circle with a line through it, and the numbers "507" underneath it. i cannot turn it off or get it to put anything else on the screen. when plugged in the usb port, the computer will only recognize it for a half second and disconnect again, making it impossible to do anything through the apploader or the desktop manager. am i doomed?

Error 507 means no OS on the device.

Use JLCmder to wipe and reload. Complete instructions are in our FAQ, linked in my sig below.

good luck.

As JSanders mentioned. Download the correct OS for that model and make you delet the vender file first and then re-write the OS and you will be up in no time. Once download the proper OS follow the steps that comes with it.

Good luck
