I have just received my new 8120 as I broke my last one. It arrived yesterday and it had 4.3 OS. I played for a few minutes and then upgraded to 4.5 110 from AT&T. Deleted the vendor.xml. Everything worked first time.

Then installed a few apps and still all okay. Then install xplayer and it will not work as it says it is trying to connect inside and outside the firewall.

I checked in security settings and I have a firewall enabled. But I am not able to turn it off. That option is locked.

Can anyone turn there firewall off?

I have checked and updated the IT policy just in case that was the problem but still locked. Xplayer still has the problem.

All help appreciated.

Most of the time this is an IT policy problem. I had a similar problem, and I used the instructions in the faq to remove the IT policy, and it didn't work for me. Then I found this threat -> Remove IT Policy and the Method 1 worked for me, now the red lock on the firewall is gone.

I will give that a try in the morning and let you know how I get on.

I had only found instructions before relating to Method 2 in your link - as you can imagine that didnt work for me.

Thanks for the reply.

Fiestito - I did as your post suggested.

Thank you very much for that.I now have my firewall disabled. I had spent hours upgrading, wiping, downgrading the OS trying to update the policy.bin to no avail.

I plugged it in this morning and ran the factory reset - 3 seconds later a screen saying pull your battery out. I did this and when the phone rebooted there was no IT policy. SIMPLE.

I still do not have the 'connection preference' in mobile network. I still cannot make wifi calls. But hey, no firewall.

Thanks.
