Default 8100 Security problem

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I purchased a 2nd hand 8100 and have found that the phone turns on, powers up but then requests a password/4 digit code to access the phone.

There is no SIM card in the phone at the moment.

Emails to the previous owner are not answered.

Can anyone tell me how to reset the phone to factory default so I can use the phone OR how to reset the code.

Thanks.

Wirelessly posted (8100)

Download JL_cmder from the net and use it to reset to factory option to unlock your phone. After that it'll be free.

It is not the SIM PIN if you have no SIM in there.

So you are being prompted for the BB password. Just keep entering nonsense. After 10 attempts the BB will wipe and let you set a new password.

I am assuming that you don't have any data to lose, as it is a "new" device for you.
