Unhappy MFI multiloader gone wrong - 03-01-2009, 01:34 PM

i used the mfi multi loader to try and unlock my friends blackberry pearl, and now i only get a double blink from the red light every 4 seconds.

i have tried using the jl loader to wipe, but now the phone is not even reading. also tried following the instructions under What to do next if Jl Cmder will not connect and wipe, but no luck.

does any one know if iv totaly screwed it up or is there another way around it?

thanks

Since you used unauthorized, stolen RIM software, likely downloaded from a bit torrent, I'd say it's highly likely you bricked your device. However, that being said, it's possible you can fix it. Did you try just running application loader to reload the OS?

yes, i tried app loader, but it doesnt seem to read that there is a device connected to the pc, i guess i should send it away to RIM for them to have a look

and yes i downloaded it from bit torrent, now i know to delete that and only use links i find on this site!

Why do you suppose we don't allow any links to that software?

Did you try running the MFI software on the device again?

keep trying the connection many times, it may take 15-20 tries until you catch it just right.

Wirelessly posted

Take the battery out. Plug into usb. Then run loader.exe and once it recognizes the device then load the OS

After using the mfi multiloader, my blackberry 8110, has the white screen and I can not leave her. The message that appears is: Type 'S', 'T', 'A', 'R', 'T' to start
Type 'GO' to start.

And I can not solve this problem

Type S T A R T

Using MFI when you don't know what you are doing is a good way to turn your device into a paperweight.

Hello! I am thinking of taking a risk of running MFI to unlock my 8900. Does anyone know where i can research what this program does and how it works?
