I have a blackberry 8100 pearl, it came with a USB cable which installed the desktop manager from CD and plug USB into computer directly to computer from the front and phone but when i click on media manager i get an error message: Media manager is only supported using a USB connection. To run media manager, please connect your device to your computer usinga USB Cable. I am new to a black berry what in the world i mean my computer recongized the USB as removable software what did i do wrong here

Try using a rear USB port, not a front or USB hub.

Try also enabling Mass Storage on your device as well as Options > Memory, or Options > Media Card.

Also, I've noticed a lame loose connection with the BB USB cable - try jiggling it/pulling it out ever so slightly on the BlackBerry end...
