Locked out (not password related) -
05-19-2009, 03:58 PM
Ok, here's the game.
I installed a theme from Tmobile's site.
It never activated, it never did anything.
I go to uninstall it. Nothing there.
Today I go to options menu and see it somewhere (don't remember been 6 hours of me just trying to get back in) So I disable all activity for that theme.
It tells me I need to reboot. So i do.
Comes back up and I head to options area. i click on the wrench and I get this "uncaught exception: Java.lang.Error"
So now I can't get into the options area. at all.
So a reset from anything after you click "options" will not work.
anyone have another solution ? none of my applications work either. twitterberry, gmail but the regular browser does and so does the myspace application.

Welcome to the forums.
Have you tried a battery pull?
If you connect the device to your PC does it detect it?
If so, connect your device, launch Desktop Manager, go into App Loader and uncheck the theme you installed, then click next. That will remove the theme from your device and should clear up your issues.

hmm. does anyone have a clean 8100 back up that I can use?
I don't think it's the program, I think it's the settings.

Their backup would have THEIR personal data. I don't see how that would help you.

Yeah, I wouldn't want their stuff.
I was thinking more like firmware. some way of setting firmware to default.
Is there a site to get the latest and just try and install that?
even if I have the same firmware on mine, it should let me right?

Follow the steps in that first post to the letter and you should be fine.

When I click ed that link, it took me to a great explanation on how to install. But when I went to the page of the installable file, the only thing close to an 8100 was the 8120.
Does the 8120 work on an 8100 ???
nm I found it, they arent in numeric order. sorry.

It does not lock me out with that. If I hit ok like ten times I still can call my friends and respond to txt messages.. but I can't get on the internet with any application but the bb browser.
