Default Wont transfer contacts.

Please Login to Remove!

Hey this question has probably been asked a million times so I apologize in advance. Anyways, I just bought the 8100 from a friend today and I put my SIM card into the blackberry. I went to setup wizard and clicked where it said to copy contacts from sim card to blackberry, it loads, but then when I go to my adress book nothing is there

Make sure there isn't a filter activated. When you are in the adress book, press the menu/Blackberry key and select "filter" -- make sure there isn't anything checked.

I have the same phone..it does transfer your SIM contacts BUT it doesn't automatically transfer to your phone address book like other phones know what I mean because its in a separate " SIM PHONEBOOK" know what I mean? so you have to do it manually yes, its very lame LOL

- go to address book
- *no addresses* appear
- press MENU
- press SIM PHONE BOOK
- presscard phone #'s appear
- pressmenu again
- press copy ALL TO PHONEBOOK

and that's all to it! all your sim contacts will be transferred to your phone, not so hard right? =]

This whole process sucks even more if you don't remember to save your contacts to your sim card. I recently got a loaner phone while my phone is being repaired and had this bite me in the ass. Memo to self and others, always save to sim card. I never did figure out how to transfer my contacts from a back up file and had to do it manually...
