From your Messages screen, press the menu key, and select Options>Genaral Options. There is a field in the General Options screen called "Hide Sent Messages". Change this to "Yes".
Be aware that this wil also hide your sent messages in all of your e-mail accounts as well...it is "all or nothing" .
