Unhappy Blackberry 8130 - 507 error and won't connect to PC

Please Login to Remove!

Hi, I'm new here and new to blackberry. I recently purchased a used 8130 after using a 7250. I'm reading here a lot and wanted to upgraded my pearl to OS 4.5 from 4.3. Everything went wrong during the loading of the new OS. I was using the tutorial here, on the forum but for no reason, the phone disconnected from the pc and now I have a 507 error message and the BB wont connect. I tried to wipe using JL_CMDER with no luck. It wont recognize it at all. Any help would be gladly appreciated. I received the phone yesterday and after one day I can no more use it...

Please help me!

Keep trying JLCmder, it may take several attempts, even 20 maybe. Error 507 simply means not OS installed on the device.

You can also simply connect to the USB and use the loader.exe file as described in any of the OS upgrade Sticky Threads.

Try a different USB port on your PC. Reboot your PC, also, and try again.

Loader.exe wont recognize my BB, I'm doing Jl_Cmder for hours now and still nothing...

Just to be sure, when I use Jl_cmder:

I plug the BB without the battery,
Then I open Jl_cmder,
and then I do all the command.

Is that the right thing to do? Do I have to remove the battery?

similar issue here, but not error 507 but:
"no application linked
(Factory OS)"

when I try to update the device software after several attempts to connect to boot rom, the following text is displayed:

A connection to the device could not be established. Please ensure that the device is properly connected to the cradle or USB cable, and that the cradle or USB cable is connected securely to your computer. Also ensure that the device has completed any startup operations. Then run the Application Loader Wizard again.

Make sure you're connected directly to a USB port in the rear of your PC, not a USB hub. Also try different USB ports. You may even want to consider rebooting your PC.

I have done upgrading through this usb port dozens of times. it is not a hub.

it seems that BB cannot pass over a certain initial stage in updating process.

this message appeared after I tried nuking the device with MFI Multiloader.

anyone has solved this issue before?

and what is more interesting, the DM says disconnected, but the BB pin can be selected from the drop down list.

I would say this is your issue. This software has been known to brick devices if not used properly. Furthermore, it's an illegally pirated piece of software which is not to be discussed on this forum. You won't find much help on this forum regarding using that software.

The OP's issue is different than yours. The OP had a 507 error, not the error you're receiving. Also, the OP did not use the MFI Multiloader. If you can't get your device to connect, there's not much you'll be able to do to revive it.
