I charge my phone every night and I woke up this morning and saw that my phone was dead, despite being hooked up to the charger. I tried it on my car charger on my way to work and the little red light would come on for a few seconds every once in awhile and the phone even attempted to turn on once but then shut itself back off.
Now I am at work and plugged it into a wall charger and I got a red light for a tiny bit, a green flashing one for a few seconds, and now there is no light but a battery symbol with a lightning bolt through it.
I've tried battery pulls with the phone on the charger and off the charger, no luck.
SOO is my battery dead? is the charger connection in the phone dead (I've tried three different chargers- one at home, my car charger, and one at work)? or is my phone dead?? Its not even a year old yet...

any advise / insight would be helpful!!

Try a different battery. Are your chargers oem? Do you have an 8130 0r 8830?

They are the original chargers, so I guess they are OEM?

I dont have another battery to try, I'm going to try and get to the verizon store on my lunch today...

whoops, sorry for the confusion re: 8130 or 8830, my fiance has the 8830 and he took over my account for awhile there

I went to the verizon store in the mall, turns out they don't have tech support. The lady there said that I need to go to a different Verizon and they'll give me a new phone. She said that she thinks its the port not the battery. She didn't have a reason for thinking so, she just says she doubts its the battery. At least the phone is still under warrenty...
Hopefully Verizon will replace it w/o a hassle...

They didn't really say, just gave me a new phone and said it is probably the port. Its nice to have a brand new phone, but I lost everything except for my contacts

Anyone know what I do about re-installing apps that I paid for?? Should I call the company and see if I can reinstall for free?? I wrote down the pin of my old phone so that I should be able to give them that and they can verify that I had it and paid for it? Hopefully...

I even changed the OS but it didn't help!!! I'll try with a new battery!!!

Bset way to troubleshoot this is to start with the cheapest component to replace: the charger.

You might also want to try connecting your existing charger to a different AC wall outlet, just for due dilligence.
