Default OS: 8100 4.5.0.246/4.5.0.153 (Multi Language) - 06-14-2009, 01:53 PM

Software For BlackBerry® Pearl (TM) 8100 smartphone
Contains English; from Etisalat
This will load to any carriers 8100.

Software For BlackBerry® Pearl (TM) 8100 smartphone

BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.5.0.246 (Multilanguage)

Package Version: 4.5.0.246
Consisting of:

* Applications: 4.5.0.153
* Software Platform: 2.7.0.105
* File name: 8100M_PBr4.5.0_rel246_PL2.7.0.105_A4.5.0.153_Etisa lat.exe
* File size: 93.51MB

Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

Download here: https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...4A920FC53D9564

This download is from Estisalat but will work on ANY carrier's 8100 model BB. (Not 8110, 8120 or 8130)

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded. (Vista users be sure to right click on the .exe file and select "Run As Adminstrator.")
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

Wirelessly posted (8900 on T-Mo)

Downloaded and installed without any problems.

Seems to be working OK.

Try going to the website of your carrier. Also, has there been any noticeable difference in the latest OS yet? It's really been a while since we've had a new one.. :D

Hmm, I'm tempted to try it...I miss the quick bootup of 4.2 but not more than the features that come with 4.5...

I will be trying it later on today on my T-Mobile USA Blackberry Pearl (8100). Have to finish using the damn phone first...been on the horn with Microsoft Tech Support all day (I hate them people)...once I am done, I will give it a shot, and update y'all.

Not sure if it was the same in .124 but it has pretty excellent battery life(My BB is almost always plugged up)...It only went down halfway after 12 hours...Also, myBoxTone Insight did work again after some time..Don't know what the problem was with it..

Is this any different than the Beta that was leaked? I'd like to know, because I was having an issue getting my email deleted on the mailbox on the computer when I deleted it on my phone, so if that was resolved I'd take the time to do this.

I've been w/ this new OS for awhile. I've got some annoy problem, it doesn't save my setting whenever I pull out the battery and pull in back. The phone keeps asking me reenter the password. :(

Now trying to downgrading back to .124.

Just wondering if your phone has gotten slower? My phone was good until today, and I installed this newer os last week. If you have, can it be fixed?

Why is the Upgrade advised? Anything New? Any new fixes? if so any details ?
Did anyone notice any Welcome feature after the Upgrade ?

Thank you.

That's right, OS .153 takes very long time to boot up, too slowly...

I'm using .81, this is good OS

Who have another idea?
