Exclamation BB won't detect service connections - says OFF

Please Login to Remove!

Sorry for lack of tech-speak!

The problem is this. I have a BB Pearl, service provider Vodafone, I turned it on upon arrival in Canada, it worked for 2 minutes (changing in the top right hand corner from GSM to edge to EDGE, as usual) and then it went to OFF. This is what it's now constantly displaying in the top right hand corner where it normally shows the service that I'm using.

I did a battery pull, a SIM pull, turned it off, and on, and still nothing. There's no water damage, etc.

Does anyone know how I can sort this out? It's happened to me before in Europe for one minute where there's a glitch and it says SIM not recognized, but then I do a battery pull and it goes back to normal.

Thanks a bunch, I'm officially stumped!

Could you have accidentally turned off your wireless? That's the only time I have seen off.

Occasionally, they just turn off. Nobody knows why. You just need to turn the wireless back on. There should be an icon for it on your home screen.
