Me & my friend added each other, using the PIN, but we are still just getting "pending". How do i accept his request, it doesnt say anything about him adding me or anything.

If you're on a BES (anyone of you) then you should have your administrator check the peer-to-peer key on the BES server.

Also, you both need to have a BlackBerry data plan in order for BBM to work.

Are you still using the same SIM card as the guy you purchased the phone from? If not, then you most likely don't have a BlackBerry data plan.

The data plan isn't tied to the device, but your SIM. You would have to have called your carrier (O2) and asked them to provision your account for a BlackBerry data plan.
