Default Latest OS: 8110 4.5.0.255/4.5.0.162 (EastAsia + English)

Please Login to Remove!

BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.5.0.255 (EastAsia)

Package Version: 4.5.0.255
Consisting of:

* Applications: 4.5.0.162
* Software Platform: 2.7.0.103
* File name: 8110EastAsia_PBr4.5.0_rel255_PL2.7.0.103_A4.5.0.16 2_Vodafone_Essar_Limited.exe
* File size: 93.27MB

Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

* Download Software: https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...356FCC56D801D1

This download is from Vodafone Essar Limited but will work on ANY carrier's 8110 model BB. (Not 8100, 8120 or 8130)

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded. (Vista users be sure to right click on the .exe file and select "Run As Adminstrator.")
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

Default Unable to update to newer OS, and certificates

I have a 8110 and have had problem with accessing websites that require me to enter a user/password. When I choose to login it says "You are attempting to open a secure connection, but the server's certificate is not trusted. It won't let me continue. How do I get this to go away. I recently went to an ATT store and went through an exchange of devices, which had 4.5 loaded. I didn't get this same error. I've not gone back to my previous device which has 4.3 OS.

I downloaded 4.5.252 and tried to update my OS. I received and error "unable to complete loading operation" "unexpected error encountered" (A:0x00000001).

Two questions:

1) how do I fix my trusted certificate issue?
2) Is there a way to upgrade my OS version with this error?

what desktop manager are you running? what version? .. also sometimes a reboot of the PC solves it too, please report back after rebooting.

I am using Desktop Manager 5.0. I just rebooted the PC. Should I retry to install the new OS? It only gives me the options to Repair or Remove.

I just tried to install this version on my AT&T 8110 running 4.5.0.158. It told me my apps were of a later version that the ones I was trying to install?
