| Welcome to the forums.
Take a look at Beyond160. It will do what you're looking for. It is not a free app but does have a free trial. http://www.blackberrynews.com/2009/0...-extended-sms/

Strange you can't type more than 160 characters. My limit is 6 sms! It doesn't sound right that u have to get an app to do that. What's this animal called cdma?

| Not all providers allow for expanding into another sms message when the message goes over 160. | | Offline

Also, same could be said about MMS, maybe not all of your friends have MMS capable phones/plans.

| The only thing I wish is that when someone else sends ms a message over 160 characters that it would show it all in one message instead of like three messages, because sometimes I will get them out of order and it will make no sence.... Anything around that?? | | Offline

Anything around that?? | I think that's more of a carrier mandated issue. I know with my Rogers Blackberries, large messages (more than 1 SMS to complete) will auto-complete themselves (I will see Receiving More while the remainder of the message is being received).
Cheers,

Cheers,
--Phil | It will only do this if it's coming from the same carrier usually. My girlfriend's texts from Verizon to my t-mobile berry come separately or only the first 160, but t-mobile texts will come in chunks. | | Offline

I've received SMS that has exhibited this behaviour from Fido and I'm with Rogers Wireless.
However this is GSM to GSM, I will conduct a test coming from CDMA to GSM.
