Hello everyone!

I'm brand new to Blackberry, so please don't laugh if the answer to my question is simple.

I've had no other problems with my new 8120 Pearl Titanium phone other than when trying to connect to my home wifi network.

It's a UK based phone, on Orange and my home broadband ISP is AOL. I have sucessfully connected to wifi both at work (with a WEP key) and at various other locations (free) on my travels, but my home network is having none of it!

When I click the 'Set up Wi-fi' icon and then the 'scan for networks' button the phone can see all of the broadband connections in my street (of which there are about 7 including mine) - And there are 4 bars of signal on my wifi connection. I then type in the correct WEP key as it requests, and the next screen I get says "UNABLE TO CONNECT" and "REASON: FAILED TO ASSOCIATE WITH THE NETWORK"

Any idea why this might be?

Please some one help if you can - It's driving me MAD!

Keep trying? It took me nearly two days to connect to my home wifi router when I first got my BB. Its worked great ever since.

Also do you have a lot of wifi profiles saved? If so, you might want to move the ones you use more frequently up higher on the list. When trying to connect to a wifi spot, the device goes in order of your saved wifi profile list. So if its something down deep in your list, it might just be timing out.

As a test, try turning off WEP and see it you can connect. Make sure you don't have some other type of access control on your router (like MAC filtering). I had trouble with uma on my old router. Ordered the Tmobile one and issues went away.
