Question 8120 double address book

Please Login to Remove!

Got a user with an 8120, using Lotus Notes so local address book, not wirelessly synch'd.

Under Address Book > Options > Address Books, there are 2 address books showing, both called Desktop. One of these has 165 addresses in, the other only has 2.

The one with 2 addresses in is the one Notes is synching with his laptop via Desktop Manager.

How do I get rid of the second address book (with 2 entries) which has appeared out of nowhere? I've tried going into Filter but neither business or personal is ticked, which has caused problems in the past.

That's really weird that there are 2 address books. Don't think I have seen this issue before. Have you tried checking service books? Sometimes when people have multiple calendars tied to their email accounts, its because of extra SBs.

Good plan Trimix, which SB refers to the local address book on the BB? I'm assuming there'd be two of the same name?

You can usually get a description of each service book and what it does. Just scroll to one, press the menu key and select view. Description will be at the bottom. If you reall are unsure, you can list out the SBs you do have.

I honestly have no clue what service book would control the adress book, so this is really a shot in the dark.

Default Did you find an answer?

Mr Scrnub-
Did you ever resolve the double address book problem? I have the same issue and my work help desk cannot figure it out. I also have two calendars with the same data.

Mr SNRUB
Did you solve your problem I have also the same problem.
On Blackberry.com they only say "This is a previously reported issue that has been escalated internally to our development team. No resolution time frame is currently available."
