Default Internet Connection

My dad sent me the 8100 and told me that there were minutes available, but no internet connection was set up for it. I was browsing through, learning about my phone when I realized that I can go online with my phone. How is this possible, if it's not set up to do so? Is it going to cost money every time I access internet? I'm not paying the bill and I don't want to access it if it's going to charge every single time I open the browser.

Wirelessly posted (overwhelmingly stressed)

If there is no blackberry package it shouldn't be able to access internet however sometimes they are able to and you will be charged
What carrier is the device being used on?

How do you know there was not internet setup but you said you were still able to browse?

Dont know if it's the case with AT&T, but on Tmobile, some people have gotten a generic data plan and been able to go online using a 3rd party browser like Opera.

If you are listed as an authorized user on the account with ATT, you could give them a call and have them review the packages currently on your account. If you aren't your Dad would need to call them.
