I'm new on this forum.
My cousin came over from the US this summer and had a BlackBerry 8100...
He sold it to me for a few bucks because here in Europe they are more expensive.
The only problem is that it's locked.

Is there any chance to unlock it so I can use it in Europe?
It would be nice if it's free. I don't like to pay any more for the phone.

Only way to get it unlocked for free is to have your cousin call the carrier he bought it from and ask for the unlock code specific to that phone.

Then I'll have to wait few weeks because he's still here.

It's strange that that's the only way because I found a few sites who claim that they can unlock it for you if you pay and send them the IMEI#
If they can generate the unlock code, than there has to be a way for the avarage ppl to do the same.

If I don't figure out an other way I will let my cousin call the carrier, which is T-Mobile btw.

I believe they purchase the code from someone who has access to the vendor list of unlock codes.
