Default a few questions

A few quick and easy questions....maybe.

1. Blackberry messenger, is that free? As in it won't use up txt messages?
2. Is it possible to see whats running in the background? For instance if I forgot to close the map program and I'm trying to find out whats consuming the battery.
3. Is there a FREE weather app out there similar to weather bug? I know of weather eye, but Im looking for something that at least will show the current temp on the icon like the 'bug does. And I'm not about to pay for something that I can use free on a desktop (or storm) or look up the info with a few extra clicks.

1 - BBM requires a BlackBerry Data Plan and does not use texts
2 - yes; from the homescreen try hitting the menu key twice and selecting Switch Application. Note that there are at least 5 apps that run in the background at all times
3 - Try BBWeather - I personally think it is the best free weather app around

I found the weatherbug free finally. If you have verizon, go to the VZ web home page on the BB, go to apps then (currently) down at the bottom, #10, is weatherbug direct which is free. Hope this helps other ppl.

It's easier just to Google weatherbug direct. It will take you to the BB app.
