Default 8130 Gps - 09-23-2009, 04:14 AM

Will it support a Navigation app? Had Google Maps and it didn't work. Said "GPS temporarily out of service". I turned the GPS to "location on" and it still didn't work.
If it does support a Nav app, which one?
Thanks in Advance!

8130 does support google maps. Works great. Not sure what you need but it worked without issue for me from the start.

Thank you for sharing. My understanding that device was unlocked for Maps only. Can someone else confirm?

Google maps worked for me but it does not use GPS but cell tower triangulation.

Google maps works for me on my 8130 from the very beginning. If I'm outside, I'll get an exact GPS fix. If I'm inside, cell tower triangulation kicks in.

BB Wishlist:
-Gmail BIS integration with an effective 2-way read/unread sync solution
-Better integrated alarm (on legacy devices)
-Threaded SMS

I was on wap and couldnt see the carrier and assumed you were with VZW. On VZW, 8130n users only get BBMaps under 4.5 OS.

I have a question for you then. I just got a BB 8130 with Sprint. With my old windows phone, it would have the option to use GPS. I don't see that on my BB. Am I missing something or does it automatically use the GPS? How will I know if it's using it?

Default Blackberry pearl GPS pricing - 10-07-2009, 11:50 AM

I have the blackberry pearl 8130, and I dont have an internet plan.
If I was in a tight spot where I needed to look up maps on the GPS, would it cost me enough to where I should buy the internet plan, or would it be ok for me to pay for using it only once in a while?
