Default Blackberry doesnt work with tmobile - 10-02-2009, 07:58 PM

Ok I have posted a few threads in the past couple of days about my UNLOCKED blackberry not been able to work. I have done everything I could and that includes the following_

1. I brought my tmobile unlocked from another country where I used it with a different carrier. I am in the U.S. now got the Sim Card from my new tmobile account put it on the phone. It said Initialization failed.
2. Registered the BB on the tmobile network cuz it wasnt with the IMEI and all that stuff. Nothing
3. They told me to go a the tmobile store. I changed the sim card got a new one. NOTHING
4. I tried putting a sim card from AT&T. same thing.
5. I did the master Reset. nothing
6. Upgraded my OS. Nothing
7. Check if the blackberry got locked for any reason. It is UNLOCKED.

So after all this journey trying to figure out how to make my phone work, I have not had any communications whatsoever. I beg if anyone knows what else could I do about or if it has happened to anyone. Please reply to this thread.

The only way my phone worked was with the original sim card from the carrier I was using! If I put it anytime it will get signal and everything! That kinda tells you that maybe the phone is locked but I checked if it was or not and it wasnt

Thank you!

- What model BlackBerry did you buy?

- Where did you buy it?

- Describe the error message you received a little better. When do you see the error, what does the screen look like, etc.

The cell phone is a Blackberry pearl 8100. And I bought it on ebay when I came on vacation to the US. As soon as I got back to my country Venezuela. Put a sim card of my carrier there and it worked perfectly.

When I put the t mobile simcard I turn on the phone, and instead of saying tmobile or AT&T or thE carrier you are using in the home screen where the date and time is, it says INITIALIZATION FAILED. All the applications run, everything is ok, it says that and it doesnt pick up the signal! When I go to sim card in advanced options, it says on top no valid sim card

I got a new one! This is the second one I try! I tried a different sim card from a different carrier AT&T and did the same thing! What are the odds that I got two bad sim cards. One on the mail, and one from the retail store!.

The odds of two bad cards? Zero.
If this was a previously used BlackBerry, it sounds like it is faulty.
