Default OS: 8110 4.5.0.294/4.5.0.174 (Multilanguage) - 10-21-2009, 09:18 AM

This OS install with work with any 8110 model by following the instructions below.

Software Name: BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.5.0.257 (Multilanguage)
Filename: 8110M_PBr4.5.0_rel294_PL2.7.0.105_A4.5.0.174.ex e
Language: English
Published Date: 10/21/2009

Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

Download the OS file here:
BlackBerry Pearl 8110 | BlackBerry-Support | Hilfe & Support - Vodafone D2 - BlackBerry Pearl 8110 / BlackBerry-Handhelds / BlackBerry / Hilfe & Support

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded. (Vista users be sure to right click on the .exe file and select "Run As Adminstrator.")
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

If not restarting, what does your device do?

Weird I have had no issue with upgrading, make sure don't do upgrade through DM do it through the loader.exe from the folder you deleted the vendor.xml from. This is by far the best release to date.

I have done like the book: using DM to download the upgrade and installing: The device never walk up!!!!... Then i look in this forums and i learned how to downgrade. I try several times to do as you recomend here, using the loader.exe and ereasing the vendor file. Always the same problem: the device dosn´t restart and the led flash in red color. The only way to fix is to downgrade to 4.3

But I´m very stubburn and i want to upgrede my device to SO 4.5.

I also took the device to been upgrade directly with the tecnical suppor area of my vendor (Telcel in Mexico) and the same thing happens.

This is very frustrating... any idea of why this is happening????

Thanks a lot for the answers.... =)

I don't know how and when the last OS for a BB coming out? Who have a responsibility to develop these version? Why could we call a version of OS a final version? At that time, it's perfect (complete) and have no fault or have nothing to add more, isn't it?
