Default Email - setup menu wizard option missing - 11-06-2009, 01:43 PM

I have a Blackberry Pearl 8100 but cannot set up the email.

The "I want to create or add an account" option is missing from the setup menu wizard?

All I have is I want to use a work email account with a "Blackberry Enterprise
Server" (which I don't)

or

"I want to skip email setup" (which I don't)

Also have 'Data Connection Refused showing. This phone is unlocked &
currently on Vodaphone PAYG.

Any ideas about the personal email menu? would this be missing from the setup wizard simply because I do not yet have a Blackberry data plan set up? or is it likely to be some other problem?

Sorry if this sounds a bit lame - it's just that I have never used one of these phones like this as a smartphone & the handbook is fairly basic.

Thank Harry

ps. I have to go straight out after posting this - I will respond to any enquiries late. Thanks

You need a blackberry data plan.
Blackberry data plans are not on PAYG plans from vodafone.
Only Orange (UK that is, i assume thats where you are from) offer blackberry data plans on PAYG.

You cannot setup email without a blackberry data plan.
