Is there a way to completely disable GPS for the pearl. I am even interested in the actual removal of the GPS antennae. I found instructions at another site:

But, that is for other types of phones. I was wondering if anyone with a pearl has tried this and could share their success, or lack of.

Which "pearl" model do you have. Only the 8110 has GPS.
And 8130 I think.

I think it is a 8110 or 8100 - I have to look. Are you sure though? Even though the phone might not support GPS applications, I think it still has GPS hardware. I am pretty sure that is how they locate you if you place a 911 call. I am almost certain that it is a requirement for all newer phones to have it:

I don't believe the 8100 has any GPS hardware.
They triangulate off of the cell phone towers. Has nothing to do with real GPS.
