Hi people,

So earlier tonight I decided to update my blackberry after a few months or so. So since I couldnt find my installation CD I went to go download the latest software from the blackberry website and I guess I forgot to check off (or keep checked i forget which one is which) the one to keep bbm on it and now its gone.

I then went back to the software and tried to get it on and according to the software update it is on my phone and installed on it but I just cant see it in my messenger programs list.

So can I get any help on this?

i am completely new at this. i actually just signed up becuase it seems many of you have a very good idea about what your doing. i was just sitting there uploading the new bbm, 500.03 or whatever it is and then BOOM all my contacts are gone. its says i need to get some email to get my contacts backed up but it never got sent to my phone.. and then!!! to make amtters worse my blackberry messenger won't even let me in anymore! i'm completely lost i don't know what to do i would apreciate any helo i could get. ps i everything downloaded and installed fine. it just erasssed everything!

WTF is a "messenger programs list"? bbm is one of these icons in the applications-screen.
Maybe you can un- and then reinstall it using the downloaded update-software? I had a similar problem with BB-maps a few month ago and solved it this way.

@maddiroe: one thing you never need is a backup. the only thing you ever need is a restore. Sorry. Sometimes data get lost.

What I ment by messenger programs list was the folder of where the instant messegers are located.

Same thing happened to me when I tried to update Messenger. MEssenger completely disappeared on my phone. I reinstalled it from the website but all my contacts were gone. I had to send requests to everyone again.
