Default Question about installing new OS and multiple BBs

Please Login to Remove!

I have an old 8100 from T-Mo that I no longer use (got the 8900 about a year ago). I have had it unlocked. I plan to install the Airtel OS on it and send it to my Mom in India.

I have downloaded the DM on a new netbook I have and the Airtel handheld software from the Airtel-BB site.

If I am correct, I install the DM on the netbook, then delete the vendor.xml file, and use the Loader.exe to install the Airtel OS, right?

Second, both me and my wife have BBs and we plan to sync to the same DM on the netbook. Is this possible? What do I need to do or watch out for?

I have searched the forums but am still a little confused and hope someone can help.

Thanks

correct, but it doesnt matter what carriers' OS is on there. It won't make a difference.
i.e. if you send it as it is, it will still work for airtel.

Thanks, I was under the impression that local company OS would provide the most features -e.g. T-Mo Fav 5.

OK, I did it. Now I have both T-Mo Zones and Airtel Live icons. It also displays T-Mo logo when starting up. Should all T-Mo references be wiped out by this re-install?

No, the startup image cannot be changed.
