alright well i got my sister's old blackberry that has broken for a while so i decided that i wuld try to fix it. First of all there is the app error 200 and app error 523. Also i cant get it to connect to blackberry desktop manager. please help

same problem here too.. and i feel i have complicated it for my self..described below are the steps i have been following after reading the previous threads regarding this issue.

two days back my 8900 showed me error 523. after going thru a lot of posts i learnt it mainly caused due to the mms module or some external application that was not compatitble with the BB. intially after a couple of hard resets my phone started getting reconised to the deskstop manager. so i went into the application loader and deleted facebook , msn since i did not get or send any mms nor did i download any theme of any sorts. still the phone did not work. then i read another post on error 523. did what adam9999 metioned but i did not understand the bit where he mentions " identify and copy it to the directory that comes up when you type 'command' into the 'run' utility available via the Start menu. i did it also, i typed the command in .. it gave access denied on a continuos basis. left that as it is. moved on to a few other threads ( since my desktop manager does not reconize it anymore ) i thought i will follow the thread mention by this user on how to install a new os when expericening the above metioned problem. when i go to connections options into my manager and select USB NOTHING HAPPENS .. I AM FUC .. ING CONFUSED.. PLEASE SOME ONE TAKE OUT PRECIOUS TIME OUTTA THERE SCHEDULES AND HELP ME OUT

MODEL 8900 ( BRAND NEW) UNLOCKED PURCHASED IN INDIA . NEVER GOT A CHANCE TO USE IT WITH A CANDAIAN PROVIDER SINCE THIS HAPPENED AT THE AIRPORT .

The first step in any BB troubleshooting sequence is with the device on, pull the battery for 30 to 60 seconds, reinsert and let it reboot. That may or may not fix it.

If not, then wipe the device with Jl_cmdr (see the FAQ) and the reload the OS (see the yellow sticky at the top of the 8100 sections ofr the OS and instructions.

I have tried wiping it with the Jl_cmdr but it does not wipe the phone and like it says that the phone should restart it does not happen. Can you please explain it in a little more detail.
