I posted this in the bb general but didn't get any response so I figured I'd go more specific.

So I have a pearl and such and every now and again when I press the side button for it to light up so I can unlock it, it will show a white screen for a few seconds. It happens rarely, but terrifies me all the same.
Is this normal?
Am I heading into troubled waters?
Any advice/knowledge you can share would be very much appreciated!
