Default Dead Pearl!

Please Login to Remove!

I've got a pearl that I keep as a backup. I got it as a warranty replacement, and then immediately upgraded my phone, so it's only been used a day or so, then lived in my truck for the last year or so. My main phone took a crap, so I tried to charge up the Pearl, but it won't respond. I've tried to charge it over 24 hours, but it won't power up, no lights blink, nothing. However, when I plug it into a computer, the computer detects something (although Blackberry Manager doesn't recognize it). Am I totally out of luck here, or is there some trick that I'm missing here? Even if the battery was completely toast, would the phone still power up while plugged in? The phone still has the protective plastic on it and is in perfect shape. I'd hate to have to write it off as a total loss.

You don't see anything on the screen? No battery symbol. Remove the battery and try plugging the device into the way outlet. Do you see any image on the screen?

Damn you're good. Took the battery out, and a battery icon popped up. This mean my problem is just a dead battery?

I would say it is the battery.

Makes sense. Just bought a battery on Ebay. Hope that clears it up (although the new battery will probably be dead by the time I need this phone again!)

Thanks!

Let us know how it works.

In the mean time, with the device plugged in sans battery, pop the battery in for a few hours and see if it does begin to charge. Won't hurt in trying.
