I am on a plan with Fido (Canada) and my phone (blackberry 8100) got broken. I had data plan with them which included MSN/Email/BBM. A few days after that I bought an unlocked blackberry pearl from a friend, but it doesnt have a PIN. It says PIN is FFFFFFFF. (Phone is from T-Mobile)

So, since I didnt really use msn/email/bbm that much I decided to contact fido and take the data off my account. They told me it will cost me 200$ to do that, and I have like 15 months till the end of my contract and data plan is 15$/month so im gonna pay 225$ anyways. So I decided not to cancel it and here I am trying to figure out how I can reactivate the PIN on this phone and use BBM again.

From what I've read, you can't fix it. But don't take my word for it. Just search and see.

Hardware problem. I don't believe it can be repaired.

hi.. i'm from indonesia, i use pearl 8100 and having the same problem, but that's don't bother me since i still can use Palringo for messaging, Facebook mobile, and Operamini for browsing, plus logicmail for pull email....you just have to make sure what do you want for the pearl to do(since you know it's pin had an error)
