Default 8110 not accepting firmware update

Please Login to Remove!

Hiya

New to the Blackberry world but have just got an 8110 from a friend, which was on Vodafone and have had it unlocked for use on O2. Firmware is 4.3.0.93.

I've also just started work in a department supporting the company's BBs, so thought I'd take the opportunity to upgrade the firmware to 4.5. However, Desktop Manager does not recognise the need to update. I tried it again at home, downloading DM from RIM myself. Same thing, no need to update recognised.

Has this been heard of before and is there anyway to force it to recognise the update?

Thanks.

Did you follow the instructions as set out in the yellow sticky at the top of this section?

Are you using an OS specifically for the 8110?

Did you delete the vendor.xml file?

If the answer to all is yes, then try using apploader for the install.

If you mean the 'latest OS' sticky - no I didn't. I'll go through that just now thanks.
