Just bought my first bb phone today its a pearl 8100.....been trying to go on the internet with it but its not allowing me so thought i'd try wifi but have no option anywhere in the menu to search for wireless networks.

1. The 8100 doesn't have wi-fi.
2. You need a blackberry bolt-on from O2 to use the internet.

Wireless is the mobile network (O2) and not WiFi.
The 8100 does not have WiFi.

O2 now have specific blackberry plans (be it contract, simplicity etc) so can't gauge price; usually runs about 5 per month extra.

Yeh, they will swap you in your next month to a Blackberry Simplicity. Just make sure you get a good CS (on the phone) or go into an O2 shop, so they know what you want, and you don't want them "accidently" moving you to a different plan/plan length.
