Default Pearl reboots on pressing any key/trackball

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

My BB Pearl (unlocked) has started showing major issues. Pressing almost any key or even rolling the trackball makes it reset. I have wiped and re-installed the OS on the device, but to no avail. Any suggestions? Is it bricked?

Bricked I don't know. It sounds more like wet... The symptoms mentioned sound like a damp or wet BB.

Try taking the battery out, and put the BB in a sealed bag of rice for 3-4 days....

Have you dropped it recently? Exposed it to moisture? (People have had trouble with sweaty pockets, humid shower/locker rooms. . . )

If you are using a microSD card, remove it and see if problem stops.

Also, you may want to try another battery. Borrow one if you can.

EDIT: But NJBlackBerry is right, I think, you ought to make sure it is dry. It really does sound like moisture.
