I have reset BB 8120 to its factory settings. Now I don't find Excel or PDF viewer softwares. It has Word and Power Point viewer. Can anyone tell me where can I find these softwares for free.

My BB version is v.4.5.0.52 (Platform 2.7.0.66)

But I, yesterday, received a message on my Desktop Software to update it with v.4.5.0.187.
It was taking too long to download, so I did not update.
Should I?
How much time it takes to download and install an update?

The download will depend on how fast your internet connection is. I believe the file is around 100MB. It's the install that will take longer. You won't be able to use your phone during the upgrade process for at least 45min.
