Exclusive New Pics of 8100 -
08-12-2006, 12:00 AM
Because of the great community here at BlackBerry Forums, and the requests I have decided to put up some exclusive pictures for the members here. Also I want to give Russell Shaw over at BBHub.com a shoutout for his excellent work covering pretty much every single BlackBerry story big or small, and also BlackBerry Cool. Now the coolness... Comparison photos with 7130, 8700g (Gold), and Motorola RAZR, and yes the 8100 is thinner than the RAZR!

Sweet...Real sweet...
I'm def on the 8100 bandwagon...
At first it was gonna be for the gf only...
I was gonna stay with the either the 8700 or 7130...
Now I plan to pick up two 8100 devices for the both of us...

Tmobile, for the second part and on the first part.
I am really wondering this myself, I have searched all the articles with no clear answers and I am really debating getting a set of BT Headphones and modding the hardware into my Sony MDR-7506's = the ultimate media/headset
Being able to utilize that with my blackberry and being able to do mobile blogging with images..... well, I need to change my pants.
Also on a side note, if I pick up three of the new 8100's and connect them all to a lanyard, would I not in effect be packing a string of pearls? Oh yeah I went there

Another Quick question -
08-12-2006, 05:38 AM
BG, just wondering about the function of the joystick, is it in effect similar to the same style of action you would have on say an Xbox controller analog stick? I.e. clickability for on/off input and then free range motion although I expect with a lot less give then a Xbox analog?

Wow, never seen that before. Pretty cool stuff. Do you know if it will work with BES? Being connected to my company's BES limits software downloads and access to websites.

BB Pearl & SureType -
08-12-2006, 05:51 PM
 Hi Everybody,
I also can't wait to get one. Currently have a BB 7130e which has 'SureType' which I now really like to use .
Hope everyone realizes that the BB 8100 also has SureType !!
Just thought it should be said.

My only real problem with SureType is that I find myself constantly switching beween three input methods to type what I want. The Multi-tap confirmation is getting more annoying by the day...

The 8100 is SUCH a nice looking BB. But 8700 wins for me for the simple reason that I love the full keyboard and I hate suretype. But it is a nice stride towards a media centered, sleek BB.

I wonder if RIM will get their version of AIM out when the 8100 comes out, which would be a double whammy against the Sidekick.

8700 screen is 320 x 240
7130 screen is 240 x 260
8100 and 7130 are the same size it sounds and the 8100 is def a lot thinner

It does appear that the 8100 screen is smaller than that of the 7130...
