| Please Login to Remove! Two folks I talked to on Friday said they actually prefer SureType. Perhaps going from QWERTY to SureType is difficult while starting with ST, or moving to it from a regular phone with predictive type, is easier? | | Offline

I've never had a full qwerty phone, started in the BB's with the 7100t which I love! I seriously wanted the 8700 for alot of the same reasons I want the 8100 (speed, screen, just plain newer and fancier) but when I tried the whole keyboard on the 8700 I wasn't kicked up about it. I'm one of the freaks that actually likes suretype. part of me is dissappointed RIM went the way of camera phone but that isn't stopping me from wanting the latest and greatest in a form factor that is way cool. | | Offline

| Ditto here. I was all set for the 8703 on Verizon, but the 8100 is now my choice. I like Suretype; started with 7100t and the smaller form factor is my preference. I could do without the camera, but the other features are fantastic. I will be in line the AM or 09/18!! | | Offline

| Waiting.
1) For Verizon to get it.
2) To decided if I even need it. I have a Ipod-mini that is the size of a stick of gum that I can carry around with me. It holds 1gb - more than enough for me. Have zero interest in a camera phone; my digital camera is much better and I don't take 'spur of the moment' pics.
Still, like most of you I'm a gadget guru, so I'm drawn to it. But I think I'd wait a few years. I just got the 7130, after all. | | Offline

| I must say that after only a few days I'm seriously loving my 7105t, SureType and all. Yeah, it's an adjustment from QWERTY, but not such a big deal for me. Perhaps if I were sending a ton of emails from my BB every day it would be a different story. My only reservation about the Pearl was the SureType, and getting this 7105t, even if just for a month or so, looks like the right move. I have no reservations about SureType whatsoever. In fact, the larger keys of the 7105t more than make up for the lack of a true QWERTY keyboard. I find it much easier to use than those tiny chicklet keys on my older BB's and Treo. I do miss having a camera, even a crap one, for those odd shots that come up at unpredictable times. Clearly it's a luxury feature, and a total disquallifier for most folks, but if they make this camera more than 1.3 MP it will be phenominal! | | Offline

I went from a phone w/ T9 to a 7100t to a 8700g and haven't looked back once. SureType was especially annoying for AIM clients, where you use 3 letter words more often, which usually means SureType will surely f*ck up. | | Offline

| | Guest | I had the 7100t for 2 days and the 7100i for a day... didn't really like the suretype .. BUT... with its form and functions of this BB.. I can sacrifice. Besides I have the 8700g if I needed to do emails and all.
Thinking of getting this for use when I am out and about. Not having a Qwerty would minimize me from answering my emails the second it reaches me.. lol. Co'z I know that I would be soooo annoyed with the suretype and would probably not answer it until when my undivided attention is not needed. | |

| Qwerty keyboard on a device that small in size. I have seen and played with the actual device and if you don't use "truetype" you will not be able to type as the phone is so small and sleek that keys would be tiny too. I personally love truetype eventhough I have the 8700G. I don't know about you guys but I can fly through via "truetype." It's definitely a device worth waiting for.

| Definitely waiting for qwerty. I've used qwerty on a 7520 & suretype on 7100. This is a personality flaw, but I find suretype presumptuous... | | Offline

| I am so getting this!!!!!
I don't understand why people don't like suretype?
I agree that it's a bit weird to get used to but once you have used it for a week it's definitely faster than a QWERTY. Think about it; a lot of the time you wont actually have to move your fingers between the buttons.
Anyway, et's not start that discussion because it's been debated lots here on the forum.

I am all over this! | I agree, unless you have huge hands...which I don't. But, I have an 8700g and 7100t and I can type very fast on both of them with no problems.
