The TMO rep was helpful (filed a missing handset form) and apologetic, but she didn't quite know when to shut up... When I told her that I didn't understand why a phone I ordered early on the first day it became available should be backordered, she said, "My supervisor ordered his on Tuesday as well". I asked if his was on backorder. "No", she replied, "He has his".

Arghhh.
I called back at 5:30 this evening to see whether I could pick up a Pearl at my local TMO store. I was told I could, but I've have to pay an additional $50 up front and get a $50 rebate. Then the rep. said that the "backorder" status of the phone shouldn't effect orders already in the system, only those purchased after the backorder date. Okay, I'll wait...

A few minutes ago, I checked this thread and saw that people who have been "squeaky wheels" were suddenly seeing that their phones had shipped. I went to the UPS site and, sure enough, mine shipped from Horsham, PA at 6:10 tonight with a scheduled arrival date of 9/21.

Sure glad I'm one of the squeaky wheels!

I'll be f'ing damned...I just read your post and I told myself "yeah, there's no way, but let's give it a try anyways". Went to the UPS website and yep, sure enough, also mine shows shipped from Philly at 10:04PM tonight with an arrival date of tomorrow. I guess my 10-minute rant to the rep and their supervisor did something. I wonder if my threat of cancelling my account had anything to do with it....probably not. You're right though, glad to be one of the squeaky wheels! =)

Just checked ups.com. Mine is finally on the way, as well, with a delivery date of 09/19. That's really only 2 business days longer than promised and a total of 7 days since ordered. I guess that's not too bad. I'm just glad it didn't turn out to be like the 8700g extended batteries...which still aren't shipping yet. Ironically, I'left for Europe yesterday and won't be back to the states until Saturday so my pearl is going to sit at the office until then...oh well.

Funny thing is, it was shipped on Monday and up until 9pm last night, there was no info available on the UPS site. Oh well, I'm just happy it's on the way here.

Same here. Hopefully TMO is doing the right thing and just automatically refunding everyone's express shipping fees.

Red face "Delayed" shipment... - 09-20-2006, 04:57 AM

I ordered Blackberry PEARL from TMOB on 9/13. Estimated delivery date was 9/18. When the PEARL was a no-show, I called TMOB and they told me that there was a "delay" in shipping. Anyways, since I paid for the express service and hadn't rcd it in an "express" manner, I was refunded the $15.00. I actually rcd the phone 9/19, one day later than estimated delivery. I was a little annoyed because I was anxiously awaiting my phone, but waiting one more day and getting the 15 bucks back for shipping was PRICELESS!...

Priceless?? I doubt it. I'm not going to bash Tmo just for shipping late. But WOW, i did standard and i'm getting it one day later than they quoted me. I don't care about shipping just as long as it is in hand! Let me have it! Let me have all the problems everyone else is having! All $hit aside. Tmo, just tell u you don't know, don't say i dont know why it's late...

I've ordered on tuesday too paid for express shipping, but got the phone a week later. I think t-mobile did not want to tell us that they got the 8100 on backorder.

I'm going through the same....Anxiously waiting at work for my phone to get a text message from UPS saying it's been delivered....I ordered mine on Tuesday around the same time as the Showtime Apple event started...information just appeared on website around monday afternoon..

UPS hasn't updated their site since last night so I'm not even sure if it's on the truck yet.

Has anyone received theirs who were supposed to received it today?

I agree with Wavshrdr all the way. You guys seriously need to take a pill.

I work for Rogers in Canada. I have to wait a whole month longer than you guys. Yes dare I say it is alittle painful to wait... but even I will prob have to wait longer than the Rogers release date (in October) to get my pearl. Becuase of backorder issues that will pop up.

It's a popular device there are going to be shortages, maybe the front line people dont know it until too late but thats NO EXCUSE to call and BUG a company 5 times in 24 hours (how do you have time to eat or sleep with all that waiting on hold???!!!!). Someone made a bad yes, but harrassing some poor underpaid/underskilled worker at customer service is NOT going to make you get your paws on the device any quicker.

When ps3 or wii comes out and I am on a waiting list am I going to call my local best buy 5 times when i dont get it right away? mmmm no. Even if i order on-line there is no realistic garentee that it will be on my door step at that time.

If you have a blackberry already then you really dont need one on that day(even though it would be great to get it sooner than later), and if you are a new blackberry customer then tough sh#^, your lame for not buying one earlier (this is the RIM gods getting their revenge).

I know its a disscussion fourm but its hard to deal with grown ups whinning about their blackberries a few days late (this is more geared to the 1st posters who jumped on the ol' bb fourms less than a day after the due date)
