Default Micro SD card not formatted

Please Login to Remove!

I got a new Micro SD scandisk card, but for some reason the phone can't use it. when I went to media card under advance options I se message "media card can't be read. verify that memory card is formatted".
the card and it's adaptor works fine on my computer. so I know the card is good.
is there any way to formatt this card from the phone?
thanks

Is media card support turned on in the options?

Format a media card
1. In the device options, click Advanced Options.
2. Click Media Card.
3. Press the Menu key.
4. Click Format Card.

I had to reformat mine on the PC to use FAT16 before my 8100 would recognize the card...

I think "support mass storage" allows you to drag and drop to the card while you're hooked up to your pc. I did it with mine and dropped a bunch of .MP3's and pix onto the card. No problems with it turned on.
