Default Questions... 7290 to 8100 - 09-25-2006, 01:44 AM

Well, I finally got it! I haven't used it yet but I will soon!

I just want to make sure I am doing this correctly.

If I backup everything on my 7290, install the new software on my PC for the 8100, and than restore everything, I should have all my address and phone numbers on the 8100? Right? Keep in mind, I am only using Blackberry software. I am not using Outlook or anything like that.

Or should I copy all my information on my 7290 just in case?

Install the BlackBerry Desktop Software v4.2 and use the Switch Device Wizard. Everything should transfer over to the new device.

Need a screenshot? ... Like JavaLoader?

I tried to use the Switch Device Wizard to transfer from my 7290 and all of my contacts and calendar events transfered but I lost my internet browser and I also had an icon for BES activation (I'm on BIS). Did I do something wrong? I'm trying to wait for PocketMac update but I figured I would give it a try. I just wiped the 8100 clean and started over I didn't have anything on it yet anyway.
