Default Play WAV attachment from gmail?

Please Login to Remove!

I've read that it's possible to play WAV attachments with OS 4.2 but I can't seem to figure it out. I'm getting the email from gmail (via BIS), it says it contains an attachment, but I don't see an option to play the WAV. What am I doing wrong?

Using a tip provided elsewhere here, I have my phone forwarded to a free number I get from freedigits.com. The voicemail attachments sent by that service are in mp3 format. Using standard gMail in my browser, I can "scan & download" the mp3 attachment, and the voicemessage starts playing in the media player. Works like a charm. Make sure that you don't use any wap or xhtml versions of gMail in your browser. Just use the standard html version of gMail.

If your wav file is formatted correctly, it should play from gMail. Just search here for the proper format. There are message in the 8700 forum which are applicable, as the processors on the devices are identical (or nearly so).

Here's the trick... Works flawlessly for me and my 8100:

Go into you browser options and change the emulation seting from blackberry to Internet Exporer (not pocket IE)

You will then have the option in your gmail option to download the .WAV, and it will play automatically.

I tried to read the .mp3 and .wav file in browser on gmail attachment. I did not find the "Scan and Download" option. Anyone else succeeded in this?

i emailed from a yahoo address a wav file and changed the settings in the browser.

I even rebooted the phone.

I still don't get a menu item which lets me play the file - or even save it.

I notice that on occasion if someone sends me an attachement thru MS Outlook it shows an attachement on the Pearl but you cant view it.

I think some MS Outlook setups strip the actual attachments and just show that one was there.

Same here. I can't view my attachments even coming from gmail using the gmail app.
